REVIEW OF REVIEWS - Natural Affairs Interpreted January - June 1936 Magazines Hardbound, 464 pages The Review of Reviews was a noted monthly magazine founded in 1890–1893 by British journalist William Thomas Stead . Established across three continents in London (1891), New York (1892) and Melbourne (1893), the Review of Reviews, American Review of Reviews and Australasian Review of Reviews represented Stead's dream of a global publishing empire. This book contains SIX issues of REVIEW OF REVIEWS - Natural Affairs Interpreted hardbound in one volume measuring 8-¾ x 11-½ inches. They are the heavily illustrated issues of January, February, March, April, May and June 1936, edited by Albert Shaw, bound including their front and back covers, a total of 464 pages. The pre-World War II content is extremely interesting - news about world leaders such as Benito Mussolini, FDR, Adolf Hitler, and King Edward VIII, as well as influential American politicians. There are articles about American politics and business, trade opportunities in Europe, the WPA, Organized Labor (“Will Unionism Become Compulsory?”), Federal Bureaucracy, the League of Nations, American Isolation vs. European Aggression, The German Press, the strategic importance of the Territory of Hawaii, the Spanish Civil War, Travel in Europe, the possibility of another World War in Europe which includes insightful (and again timely) information about the strategic importance of the Ukraine! Every issue has a section called “Behind the Foreign News”, letters to the editor, cartoons from the US and foreign press, maps, book reviews, and a section called “Travel Department” with stories about travel in the USA and abroad to places like New England, Florida, Texas, Williamsburg VA, Canada, Venezuela, Japan, Switzerland and Germany. Each issue has wonderful period advertising by Hamburg-America Line, Holland-America Line, NYK Line, Bell Telephone System, Westinghouse, Metropolitan Life Insurance, German Railroads (Olympic Games), General Electric, Dodge cars and International trucks, the State of California, the People of Hawaii, city and country hotels, travel agencies and tour operators. These 1936 magazines we published in New York by the Review of Reviews Corporation and sent to a subscriber at the Spearfish Normal School Library in Spearfish, South Dakota where they were bound. We do not charge a handling fee and will refund overpayment of postage as soon as a combined order has been shipped. Communications about, and responsibility for the delivery to the buyer must be between the buyer and the public carrier, and can not include Rapidapolis on eBay. RETURNS: because of eBay’s approach to returns nowadays we no longer represent anything as being suitable for use for any specific purpose. We sell everything as a surplus curio or relic “as is-where is”, with no implied or other warranties of any kind given, and which may or may not be useful for its original or intended purpose. What you see is what we have photographed and what we will ship. RAPIDAPOLIS has a long history of selling on eBay since 1999, and of customer satisfaction with the items we sell and with our shipping. We encourage buyers to examine our listings carefully, review our many thousands of feedbacks and buy with confidence.
